A Mindscape is a portrait of the metaphysical self. A
traditional portrait depicts the physical appearance of
the subject; its nuance is the result of the artists impression
of the sitter from their encounter.
Tamor Kriwaczek set out to draw shapes and lines, patterns
and colours, to reflect his impression of the subjects
idea of themselves. A series of layers are drawn, one
effecting the other, making an image who's nuance is as
a result of the encounter between the artist as the website,
and the person, somewhere in the world, unseen.
The relationship between that person and the website is
an important one. The design of the website and its contents
is what they see, it's what tells them what kind of man
the artist is. It defines the artist and therefore directs
the relationship between the artist and the subject, which
in turn infuences the experience they have, the answers
given, and the Mindscape created.
The Mindscape becomes a definition of that relationship
and the website becomes the artists studio, his working
environment, showing his character, interests and revealing
to a certain extent how his mind and creative processes
work. |
